"It wasn't the eight professional sports teams or its locale as a premier tourist destination. Denver's reinvention through the arts and culture - coupled with a still-growing transit system - has made it a boomtown."
"Hickenlooper has campaigned tirelessly for the arts, and considers it 'an economic stimulant.'"

For your convenience, the National Performing Arts Convention has assembled rooms within a group of outstanding Denver hotels that offer a wide variety of accommodations, amenities, and very competitive rates. You'll want to reserve your room soon, to assure your first choice hotel.
Many of the convening organizations have chosen to designate a hotel (or several hotels) as the host hotels for their individual meetings. In most (though not all) cases, their NSO-specific functions will be held at these properties.
If you do not identify with one particular NSO, or if you are looking to maximize your cross-disciplinary networking opportunities, we have also arranged for several general convention hotels. These are listed below under the subheading "National Performing Arts Convention."
For those of you seeking an inexpensive alternative to hotel accommodations, we have arranged for dorm rooms to be available. These are available either in single or double rooms. If you would like to be on the roommate search list, please indicate this on your registration form. Alternatively, please send an email to roommate@performingartsconvention.org. It is your responsibility to contact other individuals on the list and find your own roommate.
We appreciate that you have many options for making hotel reservations. By booking within NPAC's block of rooms you are sharing NPAC's commitment to the Denver hotel community, and we can continue to bring you good hotel rates and meetings with reasonable registration rates. And remember, book before the NPAC rate expires, May 8, 2008.
Save on Hotel Bills in DenverColorado allows out-of-state tax-exempt organizations to use the exemption certificate issued by their home state taxing authorities when doing business with Colorado vendors on an occasional basis. No advance notice to the Colorado Department of Revenue is required. Out-of-state tax-exempt organizations are allowed to make sales tax-exempt purchases upon providing the vendor with a tax exemption number or some other documentation of tax-exempt status from another state.
Please note: The Adam's Mark is becoming a Sheraton hotel. This will not affect current reservations or NPAC discounts.

Downtown Denver: Getting It RightThe Denver Metro Region is one of the liveliest cultural centers in the United States today. In 2003, $1.3 billion in economic activity was generated through cultural activities, with more than 11.3 million people attending cultural events throughout the region (well over twice the state's population). The cultural industry employs over 9,000 individuals, accounting for $86 million in wages and almost $14 million in payroll, seat and sales tax. Additionally, Denver as a destination for cultural tourism attracted 2.8 million visitors from outside of the Denver Metro Region and 1.4 million visitors from outside Colorado during 2003. In total, cultural tourism created $403 million in new money for the Denver Metro region during a 12-month period.
These statistics, collected in a bi-annual study commissioned by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts, present a compelling snapshot of the importance a vibrant arts community has on the economic stability and growth of a community.
Denver and Mayor Hickenlooper are keenly aware that the performing arts bring major economic growth to cities, drive cultural tourism, inspire creative learning, feed the creative economy, and help weave together the colorful fabric of our international community. The NPAC is a unique opportunity for Denver to showcase its world-class performing arts institutions and change perceptions locally and nationally.
